A developer has developed an application that allows Windows Media Center to be controlled through a Kinect controller. So can Microsoft’s mediacentersoftware be controlled via hand gestures and speech.

Kinect for Media Center makes it possible to, using a sweeping motion with the hand by a selection screen of Windows Media Center to scroll. By the hands apart, move the ok-button of a remote control to be simulated, but the user can also choose to raise his voice and ‘ok’ to call.

Brad Mauk, the developer of the software, argues that Kinect for Media Center, to some extent, sound ignores that comes from the playback of media files on Windows Media Center, the volume should not be too far screwed. The Kinect controls are also temporarily disable it.

The Kinect for Media Center add-in cost $ 7 but does not work in combination with the Xbox 360 Kinect; the user will need to have a ‘Kinect for Windows’controller.
