Asus rolls out Android 4.0 update for Transformer tablet

Asus has started rolling out Android Ice Cream Sandwich for the first generation of the Transformer tablets. The update was previously announced for Taiwan, but also Dutch users now get the software within.

Amongst other things, on GoT users reporting an over-the-air update that the tablet received. However, it may still take some time before the software for everyone is offered: ota-updates are usually phased rolled out. It turns out that a portion of the users that the ICS update has installed to suffer from spontaneous reboots. The cause of this is still unclear.

Asus had previously promised an ICS update for its first Transformer tablet. A release for the Transformer Prime came earlier to the outside, just as a tool to unlock the bootloader of the tablet. This is the install of custom roms easier.

This year there are probably still a number of Transformer-tablets. There appeared information about a cheaper model, and a variant with higher screen resolution.
