Number of smartphones on the Vodafone network grows by 72 percent

Vodafone has announced that the number of connected smartphones in a year’s time, with 72 percent has grown. This meant with their data usage, among others, that the telco decline in revenue from calls and sms to compensate.

That left the telecom provider to know when the disclosure of the quarterly figures. There were no exact figures published about the number of smartphone users that Vodafone as a customer. Was the telco apart from the fact that there are 5.3 million people customer at Vodafone. That is 6.6 percent more than in the same quarter last year.

In the third quarter of the financial year 2011/2012, the telecom provider with a turnover of 477,6 million euro. That is an increase of 1.5 percent compared with the same period last year. The revenues from calls and sms decreased, but the amount of traffic grew. Together with an increasing number of customers, this made the revenue still increased. Just like the other providers changed a Vodafone subscriptions, so that for dates more must be paid than formerly.
