‘Account of mobile internet in foreign countries is always a maximum of 60 euro

The bill for using mobile internet abroad may never be more than sixty euros per month, also in countries outside the European Union. That is in a proposal from the European Commission. The maximum is now only valid in Europe.

The maximum is now only valid as a citizen of a EU country, mobile internet use in countries that are members of the European Union, but that would be for all countries around the world need apply, reports The New York Times. For that amount, consumers may in a month’s time, depending on the applicable rates, a certain amount of roaming. If the maximum is reached, the data connection will be disconnected. The limit, which if desired, can be manually turned off, so-called bill shocks occur.

The proposal comes out in april in a vote in the European Parliament, and will, if it is passed, on 1 July in force. The proposal also regulates further reduction of roaming rates; from 2014 a MB in other European countries, up to 20 cents is going to cost, call goes down to 15 cents and calls to 5 cents.
