Transcend expands business range of ssd’s from

Transcend has in addition to its new solid state drives for consumers also a new series for business use ge lwa site. Different than the consumer version makes the SSD500 series use the more expensive slc memory.

The consumentenserie SSD720, Transcend Wednesday introduced, allows for the storage of data using mlc flash memory. The new SSD500 series for business use, including in servers, the more expensive slc memory on board. The life span of this memory should be better than mlc memory, which is a role as a drive in the database server logical.

The SSD500 series is by an unknown controller with ecc support controlled. The controller is assisted by 64MB of cache memory and drives with a sata-300 interface connected. The drives are available in capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. According to Transcend, would the drives speeds up to 260MB/s read and 230MB/s for write. If desired, the ssds available in a version that is resistant to high temperatures.
