Film industry wants to late compensation of Limewire

American film producers have Limewire sued for copyright infringement. Last year, said Limewire, the music industry, for 105 million dollars, after the former p2p provider illegal was found.

Under the plaintiffs include Fox, Viacom, Disney, Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Sony Pictures and NBC do not. Likely the movie companies will not have much trouble to bring the case to win. The companies need only to establish that Limewire is not only illegal music has spread, but also film material.

So is in the charge of the filmbazen to read: “The court has already ruled that Limewire is illegal”, and: “The court has Limewire liable for facilitating copyright infringement”.

For the lawsuit to have the movie producers compiled a list of works whose copyright was violated. On that list are especially popular productions such as Family Guy, South Park, and Avatar. The amount the companies will claim Limewire is not yet known.

Limewire began in 2000, and had at its peak more than 50 million users per month. It is one of the few p2p-applications which the so long, ten years, has been able to hold out. Other services, such as Kazaa, were faster by the entertainment industry on the knees forced.
