Canon has two Ixus models with wi-fi support and two new travelzoomcamera’s with a 20x zoom range announced. Also, it has a new, sturdy PowerShot D-model announced six PowerShot A models.
The new Ixus 510 HS and the Ixus 240 HS wi-fi on board. It is the first time that Canon has this functionality in its compact cameras, processed. The cameras can record full hd video to be recorded, and they have the new Movie Digest functionality, where a selection of video’s, clips of four seconds to be taken and these will be joined together for a dagimpressie. The resolution of the Movie Digest feature is 720p.
Also announced Canon two successors to the PowerShot SX230 HS and the SX220 HS, namely the PowerShot SX260 HS and SX240 HS. Instead of the 14x-zoom lens of the previous travelzoomgeneratie from Canon, the PowerShot SX260 HS and SX240 HS is a stabilised 20x zoom lens with an effective wide angle of 25mm.
The used cmos image sensor has 12.1 megapixels, 3″lcd has a resolution of 460K subpixels and the HS designation indicates that the camera’s video images with a high frame rate are to include for slow-motion video. Canon brings the PowerShot SX260 HS has an optional underwater housing for depths of up to 40m.
Also, Canon has the PowerShot D20, successor to the sturdy and waterproof D10, announced. Canon has made this camera a somewhat hipper look and feel, a stabilized 5x-zoom instead of a 3x variant, with a wider wide-angle setting, effective 28mm. Canon has the PowerShot D20 equipped with gps for positioning and an energy-efficient gps logger to the route to evaluate. The 2.5″lcd with 230K subpixels of the D10 to the D20 is replaced by a 3″-instance with a doubled resolution.

The price of the Ixus 510 HS and 240 HS are, respectively, 369 and 299 euros, the PowerShots SX260 HS and SX240 HS costs, respectively, 339 and 309 euros, while the PowerShot D20 359 euro should cost. The six PowerShot A models have suggested retail prices in descending order of 179, 159, 139, and 129 euros.
