The Brazilian government, Twitter has sued. The prosecutor wants the microbloggingdienst accounts directly connect if there are warnings for traffic controls to be placed.
The government claims in court that Twitter the accounts in question immediately shut down and the corresponding deletes messages, reports the BBC. For each day that Twitter does not meet the requirement, demands the South American country, a penalty of 500,000 real, the equivalent of some 220,000 euros.
In Brazil warn Twitter users to each other to an increasing extent for traffic controls. So has the account @LeiSecaRJ of 275,000 followers. The twitterer calls the lawsuit censorship. The account holder @RadarBlitzGO is, however, as a precaution, stopped and awaiting further proceedings.
Twitter made last month announced that the tweets and accounts on a country level can be blocked if the content is contrary to the national legislation of a country. The location of the user on the basis of the ip address is determined.
