Asus launches DirectCU II versions of the 7970-graphics card

Asus released a video card based on AMD’s Radeon HD 7970, but as many manufacturers did, gave Asus the card with standaardkoeling. The company now has a version with a proprietary cooling released.

The DirectCU II series from Asus, also known as DC2-series or Direct Copper II, is characterized by the large drieslotsuitvoering of the map. A standard geklokte DC2 version is in addition to the overclocked DC2T – or TOP-model available. A large part of those three slots is taken up by the cooling system that Asus developed, which consists of two fans on cooling fins with six copper heatpipes and blow it up. The design would not only cooler, but also quieter than the standaardkoeler.

The map is not only of a private cooling, but Asus overall the gpu of the card is also standard, so under warranty. The stocksnelheid of 925MHz is slightly increased to 1000MHz. Also the memory with a clock speed of 1400MHz is slightly faster than the standard 1375MHz. Who the speed wants to increase, assisted by a custom designed power supply of twelve phases, and Asus’ VGA Hotwire technique, which the tensions of the components can be performed.

The other specifications of both the overclocked TOP card as the standard do not differ from the referentieontwerp. Both cards have 3GB of gddr5 memory with a 384bit wide bus is driven. Via the two dvi ports and four displayports can six screens to be driven. The cards are a few tens to be more expensive than the standards.
