Sony working on Android-powered smartphones with WhiteMagic screen. This screen has more subpixels than is customary in smartphoneschermen. Therefore, the display images brighter display and less battery consuming.
The WhiteMagic screen has a maximum brightness of 1000 nits, so claims Sony in material about the type of display that has previously been used in screens of digital cameras. That resolution is also supported on the Neo V, Arc and Ray from Sony Ericsson. Also the Pepper has the U8500 soc from ST-Ericsson with a clock speed of 1GHz.
The cheapest model is the ST21i Tapioca. That device would be a screen with a diagonal of 3.2″ and a resolution of 320×480 pixels.
