Samsung says Nokia in 2012 to dethrone as the market leader in the field of phones. In the last year, sold Nokia a hundred million mobile phones, but Nokia’s sales are dropping, while that of Samsung is still on the rise.

Nokia is still by far the market leader and sells almost a quarter more phones than Samsung, as appears from the figures for the first three quarters, and expectations for the last quarter. According to Samsung ceo Choi Gee-sung will Samsung in 2012, the market leader in the field of phones, reports Reuters news agency.

Analysts do not agree with the Samsung ceo, says Reuters. According to them, Nokia will in 2012 still forty million phones sell more than Samsung. Samsung is Nokia since 2008 to catch up; Nokia saw its sales until 2008, grow at a phenomenal rate, but then came the scratch in it. Especially in the fast-growing segment of smartphones has fared Nokia bad; last year lost Nokia the market in terms of smartphones of Samsung and Apple, which are both in the third quarter, more smartphones sold than Nokia.

Nokia is since the fourteen-year leader in mobile telephony. Samsung is only a few years the number two; to 2007, the sale of Motorola more mobile phones than Samsung. By now, the American manufacturer, who is presumably through Google is being taken over, much diminished. Where is Motorola in 2007, more than 150 million phones sold, it is now worth 40 million devices per year.

Sell phones Nokia and Samsung per year since 2001. The year 2011 is an estimate based on the sales in the first three quarters and the expectation for the fourth quarter. The figures for 2012 are based entirely on expectations of analysts. Data: Gartner. Graph: Tweakers.net
