Samsung successor Galaxy S II is not on telecombeurs MWC

Samsung will be the successor of the Galaxy S II is not as expected at the end of this month on telecombeurs Mobile World Congress reveal, but at a private event sometime in the first half of this year. It is unclear when the device comes out.

The Galaxy S III would in the first instance, just as the S II for the first time be shown at the Mobile World Congress, but the announcement is now likely to be at a later time or place. This is evident from a statement that the manufacturer has circulated to the Dutch telecompers and that by, among other Mobile Cowboys is published online.

The manufacturer says that the device is presented during a separate event in the first half of this year. Or the release will also take place later, is unclear. That, however, is not obvious; Samsung states that the presentation takes place later to the announcement and release to be brought closer together. This has the advantage that the attention and interest that the announcement will be generated at the time of release have not yet been verflauwd. Last year there were almost three months between the announcement and release of the Galaxy S II. Some other manufacturers, such as Apple, and most recently, Nokia, leave a gap of only a few weeks of fall.

Tuesday went the rumor that the Galaxy S III on 13 march would come true. That seems to with this statement excluded; telecombeurs Mobile World Congress is three weeks before that date. It is unclear whether the release is indeed scheduled for march 13. Samsung says already that the successor of the S II in the first half of 2012 should come true.

There are as yet few details are known of the device, that likely model number GT-I9300. It is suspected that the device has a quadcore processor from Samsung itself, for example, the Exynos 4412, and a screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Images and concrete details of the device are, however, not yet leaked.
