Retailer takes bankrupt e-readerproducent about – update

The BAS Group, owner of the retail chains Dixons, MyCom and Dynabyte, the activities of the company behind the BeBook e-reader. At the beginning of this year declared the right of the e-reader manufacturer, bankrupt.

The activities of the Utrecht-based company Endless Ideas, that are products under the name BeBook sells, be taken over by the Dutch BASS Group, made the company this morning announced. The BAS Group is known from the Dixons-, Mycom – Dynabyte-shops, but produce and install ict accessories and pcs under its own name. “The acquisition fits in more with us than at first sight may seem,” said spokeswoman Dominique de Thouars.

Two weeks ago, the Utrecht district court, the bankruptcy of Endless Ideas. That was not the product, allows The Thouars. “There is nothing wrong with that.” The company launched in 2008 a own e-reader on the market, and then improved models followed, including a touch screen, 3g and wi-fi. Also followed in 2011 with a private tablet with a Cortex A8 cpu and a 7″touch screen.
