LG has a deal with Microsoft closed to various patents of the software company to use. LG would be the patents to use in devices that Chrome OS run. The manufacturer has however not yet announced.
By the licentiedeal may LG patents of Microsoft. The deal is valid for devices running on Googles Android operating system running, but also for Chrome OS. The deal points out that LG devices don’t want to release that on Chrome OS to run, but the manufacturer has plans not yet announced.
Microsoft has with most of the major Android manufacturers have agreements on the use of a number of its patents. So, the company from Redmond money from HTC, Samsung and Acer for each sold Android device. Yet, there was not previously spoken of a deal that also for Chrome OS.
Samsung in collaboration with Google laptops released that on Chrome OS run. Also Acer came with Chrome OS notebooks. It is possible that LG is also this so-called ChromeBooks in the pipeline. The use of Chrome OS on smartphones and tablets seems unlikely.
The only major Android manufacturer that is not yet patentendeal has with Microsoft, Motorola. It is unlikely that the company, a deal will close, because it is expected to be acquired by Google. However, Motorola already found guilty of violating a patent of Microsoft.
