OnLive Desktop streams Windows apps to iPad

OnLive, known for the gamestreamingdienst, are use technology to Windows applications, to iPads, to stream. Later applicatiestreaming available on other tablets, smartphones, pc and Mac.

The ceo of OnLive announces the new Desktop app for the iPad to on the weblog of the company. The app is Thursday in the App Store to find, according to OnLive. Later, other tablets, smartphones, apps for pc and Mac, and support for OnLives own Microconsole. The gamestreamingdienst demonstrated the streaming of Windows-based programs to tablets in december 2010.

With the OnLive Desktop app gives users free access to a Windows 7 desktop with Microsoft Office, a number of tools and games, and two gigabytes of storage in the cloud. The stored data will also be available via a web interface. The multi-touch navigation of Windows 7 is, according to OnLive fully working and playback of hd video should be no problem. OnLive still works to paid subscriptions for the most demanding users and businesses, which enables more applications and storage are offered.

OnLive previously released an Android app, from games to streaming to mobile devices. An iOS version of the application is still waiting on approval from Apple. The streaming service was in september 2011, introduced in the United Kingdom. A release in collaboration with provider Belgacom has been announced for Belgium and Luxembourg; when the Netherlands is still unknown.
