Nikon offers six new Coolpix compact cameras announced, including two advanced bridge camera’s, three new models in the ‘Style’-compactcameraserie of Nikon and a slight update of the Coolpix S300. Suggested retail prices run from 139 to 429 euro.
The Coolpix P510-advanced bridge camera, successor to the Coolpix P500, at this refresh of nikon’s compactcameralijn the largest changes. As the zoom range increases from 36x in the P500 to 42x with the P510, instead of a bsi-cmos image sensor with 12.1 megapixels is a newer variant with 16 megapixels and the image stabilization based on sensor shift is replaced by an optical variant.
In addition, the gps functionality is added, there is an auto hdr mode added that two pictures with different exposure together into one picture with higher dynamic range and a 3d photo mode, built-in. Also, photos in the camera retouched, and the P510 is compatible with Eye-Fi X2 sd cards and higher. The 3″vga lcd can be moved up and down to be folded.
Also on the Coolpix L810 is the successor of the L120, the zoom range increases. Instead of a 21x-zoom lens with a wide angle of 25mm make Nikon’s L810 use of a 26x-zoom lens with a wide angle of effective 22.5 mm. As with the P510 is Nikon’s L810 switched to optical image stabilization. Also, the resolution of the ccd image sensor is increased of 14.1 to 16 megapixels, but the maximum video resolution is stuck at 720p. Like its predecessor, makes the L810 use of a 3″vga lcd.
The new top model in the Performance line from Nikon, the Coolpix S9300 offers the same 18x-zoom lens, with a wide angle of effective 25mm and bsi-cmos image sensor with 16 megapixels, like its predecessor, the Coolpix S9200. As an extra addition, this model has, however, gps functionality with a map of the world. The 3″lcd has a vga resolution.
The model below it, the new Coolpix S6300, is what specifications are concerned almost equivalent to the current Coolpix S6200, but makes use of optical image stabilization instead of sensor-shift-technology. The small superzoomcamera reserves the 10x-zoom lens and ccd image sensor with 16 megapixels.
With the Coolpix S3300 is the 5x zoom lens of the Coolpix S3100 is replaced by a 6x-zoom lens with an effective wide angle of 26mm, while the ccd image sensor is now 16 instead of 14 megapixels.
The last model that Nikon announced the Coolpix P310 the successor to Coolpix P300. This would be the enthusiast model of Nikon with a zoom lens with a maximum aperture of f/1,8 in the wide angle position, but the 1/2,3″-bsi-cmos image sensor makes this camera what performance the lesser of the PowerShot S100 Canon.
