LG has to own say a million copies sold of its Android smartphone Optimus LTE. It is the first time that a manufacturer of a concrete number of sales calls from a phone with support for the 4g technology.
The Optimus LTE came so far in only four different countries: Japan, South Korea, Canada and the United States, says LG. In countries that have lte networks running, but they cover nowhere the whole country, which makes the devices not always attractive to buy. Moreover, it requires lte much of the battery, allowing devices with lte, a larger battery and housing than many other devices.
In the Netherlands the device is not yet released because the lte here is still nowhere to be operational for consumers. All providers do the tests with the 4g technology, but it is unclear when the networks go live. Probably wait for the providers on the frequentieveiling this fall, with many frequencies, suitable for lte will be auctioned.
The Optimus LTE is LG’s first phone with a 720p screen. The screen has a diagonal of 4.5″ and is of the ips lcd type. It has a dualcore processor in the form of a Qualcomm MSM8660-soc with Adreno 220 gpu.
