LG introduces new 8.9″-Optimus Pad-tablet with lte

LG has a new Android tablet is announced with support for the 4g network technology lte. The Optimus Pad has an ips screen with a diagonal screen size of 8.9″ and it runs on Android Honeycomb.

The Optimus Pad lte is powered by a 1.5 GHz dualcore soc from Qualcomm and the ips panel has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. In addition to support for bluetooth, wi-fi and 3g, it is also possible to connect to a 4g network. These are in the Netherlands, incidentally, is still not rolled out. The tablet has cameras on the front and back, with resolutions of, respectively, 2 and 8 megapixel.

There is 32GB of memory available for the storage of data and by means of a micro-sd card, the capacity can be doubled. The Optimus Pad lte features a 6800mAh battery, but LG let not know how long the tablet can work. LG will be the tablet as the first in its home country of South Korea release; it is not yet clear whether he also to Europe.

The Optimus Pad lte is not the first Android tablet from LG. Last year, the company introduced the Optimus Pad 3D, a Android tablet powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 2 soc with a 3d screen. The introductory price was very high and the tablet was not successful. The price of the new lte tablet is not yet known.
