Energy supplier Eneco has a new thermostat announced with the name Show. The device features a color touch screen, and can be expanded to report on the current energy consumption and compare this with previous data.
The Display system comprises in addition to the thermostat from different sensors on the gas and electricity meters and central heating boiler need to be placed. Furthermore, it can Show weather and traffic information such as traffic conditions and radar.
The device is developed in cooperation with the Dutch companies, Quby and Prodrive, and makes use of the OpenTherm protocol for communication with the boiler. The thermostat should this spring come true, and goes 120 euro cost. For Live Updates, it is only 3,50 euro per month to be paid.
Eneco is not the first energieleverancer that with such a thermostat. At the end of last year introduced the Essent E-thermostat. This can be done via both the internet and mobile apps accessed and programmed. Also Nuon would with an e-thermostat.
