Corsair at CES two new housings to show, one in Obsidian and a second in the Carbide series. The Obsidian 550D is a silent case referred to, while the Carbide 300R is an affordable mainstream housing.
The Obsidian 550D is based on the 500R casing; the interior is identical, but from outside the housing is quite taken in hand. Also the side panels are adapted; in fact, only the skeleton and the layout the same. The panels are equipped with sound-absorbing material and the front is foam. The door at the front allows to have two sides open and offers a view on the inlaatventilators, behind a door with dust filter are hidden. Also, the top and side are both of a cover with dust filter, but Corsair only makes a single exhaust.
The 300R is a instapsysteem to Corsair standards and must be especially budget-conscious gamers to appeal to. While the 550D 160 dollar should cost, is the 300R with its 89 bucks a piece more affordable. For that money Corsair is a housing with three optical drive bays, four bays for 3.5″drives and an ssd, space for cable management and a painted black interior. An inlet and outlet are included, but there is room for five additional fans.
