Parrot shows AR.Drone 2.0 at CES

Parrot is presenting at CES, the AR.Drone 2.0, a new version of this quadricopter that can be controlled with a smartphone. The new version will appear in the spring and has an on-board camera that is 720p capable.

Prior to CES, there were already some rumors leaked about the new uav from Parrot, the French company that, in 2010, the AR.Drone put on the market. At the CES shows Parrot the successor, AR.Drone 2.0 baptized.

The new quadricopter will appear in the second quarter on the market and has a suggested retail price of $ 300. Version 2.0 will also appear on the European market, though it is not yet known what the machine will cost. The new version of the AR.Drone has a better camera than its predecessor. One of the two boordcamera can now images in 720p quality to send to the smartphone which allows the drone to be controlled.

Parrot has to say is also the app that enables the quadricopter is controlled, improved. With AR.FreeFlight 2.0 now can a course be that the machine flies. Further flight details are stored, such as altitude, speed and duration. Just as the photos and videos that have been made are, these flight details can be shared via social media.

The AR.Drone 2.0 can be controlled in two ways: the classical way, where the driver itself, and the orientation of the machine controls and a new method that makes use of the in in the Drone built-in 3d magnetometer’.
