Nine Chinese writers have miljoenenclaim against Apple filed. They are accusing the company of copyright infringement; in the iBookstore would their books without permission, are sold.
The court in Beijing has made the case against Apple, accepted, writes the Chinese staatskrant People’s Daily. The writers demand of Apple a compensation of 11.9 million Chinese yuan, the euro, 1.5 million euro. That Apple 30 percent of the price of the according to the authors, without the permission of books sold means, by one of the authors ‘outright theft’. Among the victims are well-known Chinese authors.
In the iBookstore were, according to them, 37 books of nine writers without permission, sold. Some of those books would be millions of times downloaded, which the authors say a lot of income to have missed. Apple would also be the Chinese law by failing to verify a seller of books about the copyright. It is unclear what companies the illegal copies in the iBookstore. It is also unclear whether the books were still without permission to be sold.
Was Google in the clinch with Chinese authors, because the books project without the consent of books of Chinese writers would scan.
