On the internet is a promotional campaign movie published of the new FT1 lens adapter for Nikon 1-series. In it is to see that the af speed with the adapter in combination with a Nikkor AF-S lens to compare with the af speed of 1 Nikkor lenses.
Earlier this week it was announced that the new FT1 lens adapter for Nikon 1 camera series this week, would be available, but still unknown was how quickly with the adapter and a Nikkor AF-S-lens focus could be. In an on the internet appeared the video, taken from a Dutch shop, is now to be seen.
The focus with the FT1 lens adapter and the Nikkor 50mm F/1.8 lens seems to be as fast as with the original 1 Nikkor lenses. The fast focus is possible by the use of the phase-detection-af points on the CX sensor of the Nikon 1 cameras.
The speed is comparable to that of the new LA-EA2 lens adapter from Sony, which uses a fixed mirror to a light on a fasedectectie-af module to shine. The LA-EA1 lens adapter allows significantly slower sharp. Just like the LA-EA2 has the FT1 lens adapter and a tripod thread on the bottom.
It is with the FT1 adapter is not possible to use auto focus with older lenses like the AF-D-series because of the lack of a screw for the focus. The FT1 is available for a suggested retail price of 269 euro.
