Twitter should be data Xs4all-founder Gonggrijp hand

Rop Gonggrijp and two other WikiLeaks volunteers have a request on a ban on the handing over of their data rejected. Twitter must provide information about the users on the American Justice system to hand.

Last year January, it became known that the U.s. government information from a number of former WikiLeaks volunteers wanted, including the Dutch hacker, Xs4all-founder and privacy-activist Rop Gonggrijp. The withdrawal is part of a criminal investigation into the publication of the “Collateral Murder” video on WikiLeaks, where the three involved would have been. In addition Gonggrijp is the Icelandic politician Birgitta Jonsdottir and Tor developer Jacob Appelbaum.

All three they went in appeal against the decision of the American judge that Twitter data should be shown. They asked in addition to the right to ensure that during the appeal, no information was given to you.

That last request is now rejected. The court considered it unlikely that the three their appeal to win, and so should Twitter have the data to hand. Although the three appeals still have not lost, thus no purpose anymore. The U.s. prosecutors claimed that further postponement of the handing over of the data for delay in the criminal investigation would provide.

Twitter must, among other things, the e-mail address, phone number, address and payment information to the American justice system transfer. Twitter stores that data, the e-mail address, except, for normal users, however, not at all. It is uncommon for Twitter users to be aware of the request to have their information to hand: the American justice system had asked not to do that and in many cases surveys not to light.
