Sigma has on its website a teaser for an announcement on 10 January. That is the start date of the PMA-fotografiebeurs. According to the teaser, it is the ‘hottest’ technology of Sigma in 2012: probably the lenses.
The teaser doesn’t give much information, but the background image shows the ridges of a zoom or focus ring of a lens, with at the base the words optical stabiliser. Sigma has already optically stabilized lenses in their product range, so it could, for example, go for a new technology.
Another possibility, which by 43Rumors suggested, is that Sigma is the PMA-fotografiebeurs, that this year along with the CES-consumer electronics held in Las Vegas, engaged to his first m4/3 lenses to announce. It is also a lenzenaankondiging for Sony E-mount possible.
Sigma was already a prototype of a 30mm f/2.8 lens. This lens would, according to the description both in a m4/3 and E-mount version be released, but Sigma has the lens not been officially announced. Sigma has already a large number of 4/3 lenses released.
