Samsung accuses Apple of new patentschendingen

Samsung has Apple for four new cases of alleged patentschendingen sued. One of them relates to the introduction of smileys; another at translating text into audio. Samsung and Apple are already in the clinch.

The four patents are added in a rechstzaak that is already on three other patents went, reports FOSS Patents. One of the new patents relates to the entering smileys on a mobile device, that Samsung is a little more than 10 years ago has been submitted.

Another patent involves the conversion of information on a mobile phone to speech. Possible the functionality of Apple’s Siri voice-recognition software: recognizes voice of a user, let the Siri question they see on the screen and read then aloud.

Two of the patents cover essential functionality for wireless devices; because they are necessary, should a patent holder under certain conditions license to other companies. Previously held a Dutch court that Samsung had not done this, so it comes as no compensation was allowed to ask for the patents. In addition, the European Commission or Samsung abuses of this so-called standard-essential patents.

Apple and Samsung are in battle over patents. Since april, there are lawsuits filed in approximately twenty countries, including the Netherlands. Apple forced a sales ban for the smartphone Galaxy S II, but after an adjustment to the way in which by photos may be scrolls according could the sales of the smartphone still continue.
