Developers have managed to get the Motorola Motoactv of a full Android installation. The fitnessapparaatje running on Googles mobile OS, but has an interface that is focused on fitnessfunctionaliteit.
In a demonstration video is shown what is possible after the rooten of the Motoactv. So, the developer has a custom launcher installed, and is it possible to use Google applications to use. With the Motorola software, it is only possible to a number of pre-installed features. The full Android OS, however, is of only limited usefulness: the Motoactv has a touch screen of 1.6″.
Motorola announced the Motoactv in October. The device is especially intended for use during sports activities and can as watch be worn. Sporting achievements to the servers of Motorola will be sent. The Motoactv have to compete with the iPod Nano from Apple, which also offers such functionality.
