The Dutch have during the new year, significantly more mobile data verstookt. Both Vodafone, KPN and T-Mobile saw a doubling of network traffic. However, there was a decrease in the number of sms messages sent.
Customers of provider Vodafone sent between 22 hours, and 4 hours 26 million sms-messages, two million less than last year. Were there through the network of the provider this year, approximately 100,000 calls conducted: 6.5 million.
That increase pales, however, with the tremendous growth of the data traffic in that period experienced. According to Vodafone, that no exact figures are being made known, there was between 22 hours and 4 hours, there is something more than a doubling of the amount of network traffic compared with the previous year. Compared to a normal day, there was talk of a treble.
Also the T-Mobile customers have significantly more use is made of their mobile internet connection. This provider saw in the same period, an increase of 107 percent, which in total was good for 6.2 TB of data. During the turn of the year last year there was approximately 3TB verstookt, which is already a doubling was compared to that of the turn of the year 2009/2010.
As Vodafone noted also T-Mobile that this year fewer sms messages were sent. T-Mobile customers sent in total in the period 28 million text messages. Last year there were almost thirty million. The provider acted this year to 8.5 million calls, 200,000 more than last year.
KPN has between 22 hours and 4 hours of 23.9 million sms-messages processed, a slight decrease compared to the 26.3 million who last year were sent. In contrast to the other two providers are the customers of KPN this year, however, something less called. The provider acted on the 5.2 million calls; last year there were 5.8 million. In total verstookten the KPN-customers to 3.5 TB of mobile data, last year, this was 1.8 TB.
