Olympus patenteert lcd draaiconstructie for cameras

Olympus has a new way to have a lcd rotatable to a camera to confirm, as appears from a patent of the company. The illustrated cameraconcept similar to middenformaatcamera’s as a Leaf or Hasselblad.

In the Japanese patent application described lcd draaiconstructie, which is read by Egami, consists of a vertical picture to the left of the camera is mounted. This plane is rotatable around its axis. At the end of the picture, the lcd with a hinge attached.

Thus different configurations are possible. So is the lcd to the back of the camera to fold, so you if it were the screen of a digital back for middenformaatcamera’s see. By the lcd portion to the front to clap, the lcd side is protected during the transport.

By the picture on the side to top to rotate, the lcd on the top of the camera to be folded for shooting from waist height. One of the images from the patent application shows a viewfinder that is the lcd view from above translates to a more conventional way of taking pictures. Also, the lcd as a camcorder to be tilted and to the side is extended.

A disadvantage of this construction is that the lcd angle viewing is possible only in the latter camcorderconfiguratie and then with the disadvantage that the axis of rotation not in line of the lcd.

Olympus made a few days ago in an interview known to be working on a completely new m4/3 camera, with a very special electronic viewfinder. It is not known whether Olympus, thus the ‘seeker’ from the aforementioned patent application to mean, or that we should think about the 43Rumors suggestions of semi-transparent oled viewfinder which is both optical and electronic information can be displayed.
