There is probably no prohibition on calling in the car in the United States. The influential body NTSB want to make a call in the car prohibit, hands-free, but according to the responsible minister is the problem there.

Calls via bluetooth headsets and other hands-free solutions is not a major problem, argues Ray LaHood, the minister for traffic in the U.s. cabinet. “If other people hands-free to work with, then so be it”, signs Wall Street Journal out of his mouth. Hence, there is a general prohibition on call by drivers of cars of the track.

Individual states can still make a call in the car prohibit, but that still has no state done. Some states have laws against things like texting in the car or call with the phone in hand. It is unclear whether there states that all forms of call by a director want to prohibit.

The National Transportation Safety Board, a U.s. advisory body that accidents examine and on the basis of lawmakers recommends, said last week that phone calls in the car should be forbidden. The immediate cause was a collision between a pickup truck and two school buses last year. The 19-year-old driver received 11 texts in the 11 minutes before the crash, where the driver and a student were killed. “Driving was not his only priority,” said one of the five members of the NTSB. “No phone call, no text message and no status update is a human life worth.”
