In Utrecht Thursday morning a tower of Digital tv aerial blown down. Digital tv viewers in the immediate vicinity of the mast can therefore result in worse coverage. The incident has no consequences for other services.
The transmitting antenna was on the roof of a building next to the local football stadium, according to KPN, and is early this morning leveled. In the incident, no one hurt, but subscribers who listen to the radio or watch tv via Digitenne, may suffer from less good reception. It comes to subscribers that are in the “immediate vicinity” of the omgewaaide mast. To limit the inconvenience is an additional mast elsewhere in Utrecht in the use of it.
The station served only for Digitenne; the collapse has therefore no consequences for other services. However, says KPN monitoring of cell towers and other infrastructure have been strengthened, as a result of the strong winds and the high water level in the north of the Netherlands.
In July, collapsed in the province of Drenthe have a cell tower as a result of fire. Also met Digitenne burden, as well as multiple telecommunications providers and radio stations.
