LG announces 55″-oled-tv officially

LG 55″-oled-tv was officially announced and the first pictures of the copy published. The tv is 4 millimeters thick, weighs 7,5 kg, and would be cheaper to produce than previous production methods.

Last week Monday, announced by LG that it is a 55″-oled-panel had developed that it would show at the CES show in Las Vegas next week. On the first day of 2012, the Korean company’s first tv with the panel announced.

LG provides the tv of 4-color pixel technology, which means that in addition to red, blue and green, also white subpixels are present, thereby reducing the amount of display colors, would increase. Last year introdeerde Sharp all are similar quad-pixel technology, all concerned when an extension with yellow sub-pixel.

LG claims that the oled tv at substantially lower costs to produce than when using previous methods, without going into detail about the differences in manufacturing technology or the price of the 55″-oled-tv.

The tv would be 4mm thick, where LG in its announcement last week about a panel thickness of 5mm. The weight would be 7.5 pounds, and the bezels are very thin.

For more details on the CES published. LG and Samsung are in a race involved as regards the introduction of large oled tv’s. It is therefore expected that the two companies with yet more news in this area.
