Lenovo has a new version of its business-X1 thin & light announced that a Core i and additional Snapdragon chip. The latter runs an instant-on-OS for long battery life. Also comes Lenovo with a new ultrabook.
The Lenovo X1 Hybrid looks the same as the oorspronkeljke X1, Tweakers.net last year has tested it, and also has similar specifications. The laptop has a shiny 13,3″-screen with Gorilla Glass-plate, Core i processor, a thickness of 22mm and a fine keyboard, with the familiar red pointing stick.
A major disadvantage of the original X1 was the limited battery life. The problem Lenovo has on striking manner addressed. The X1 Hybrid has an additional Snapdragon APQ8060 processor, extra 1GB of memory and a ssd of 16GB that is running a Linux OS running that the company Instant Media Mode call. Probably, it is an Android variant, such as earlier message.
A 3g module is optional and the X1 Hybrid also features Intel vPro3 technology, encrypted hard drives with support for remote management, and a fingerprint reader. Information about the Dutch availability and price is not there yet.
Lenovo also comes with a business ultrabook, the ThinkPad T430u. The cover is aluminum, the thickness is 20mm and the weight is less than 1.8 kilo. That’s fairly hefty for an ultrabook, but the T430u would then also have an Ivy Bridge processor, optional Nvidia gpu, and storage space of 1TB to go. In addition, there is a pair of usb ports, ethernet port, hdmi and sd card reader are present.
