Japanese claims to “hack” in the PSP emulator of PS Vita

A Japanese owner of a brand new PlayStation Vita announces that he within the PSP emulator of the handheld unsigned code can run. In addition, he makes use of a buffer overflow via a savegame-exploit to call.

The exploit, which is possible by a modified savegame to open within the PSP emulator on the PS Vita uses a vulnerability in PSP firmware 6.31. This clears the Japanese, who Mamosuke calls, a “hello world” app to run on the Vita. Mamosuke hopes that he is using the exploit the first homebrew on the Vita will allow.

Because the offered PSP-emulator with the current firmware version is vulnerable for existing exploits, and the emulation at a high level seems to be running, it is in all probability possible to make pirated PSP games on Sony’s new handheld to run.

The “hack” is not, however, apply to the firmware of the Vita; the PSP emulator runs probably inside a virtual machine that the hardware of the Vita, you cannot immediately appeal. Furthermore Sony with a firmware update also the firmware of the PSP emulator, update for the security hole to close.
