Elektronicagiganten jointly develop lte chips

Six Japanese and South Korean elektronicagiganten establish a joint venture for the development of lte chips. According an American business newspaper, they want to hence the dependence on Qualcomm to reduce.

The company was founded by one of the six companies, the Japanese telco NTT Docomo, brought out after The Wall Street Journal about the joint venture reported. In addition to Docomo take Samsung, NEC, Panasonic, Fujitsu and Fujitsu Semiconductor participated in the joint venture, which at the end of march will be set up. The company will focus on developing chips for the lte and lte-advanced standards. Or also for other purposes chips wants to develop, is unclear.

The joint venture, whose name is not yet known, will the chips to design and sell, but will the production do not account for. Also nVidia, AMD and Qualcomm are working on that way.
