Sensics, a U.s. company that is specialized in the production of head-mounted displays, has a vr helmet for gamers developed. The SmartGoggles Natalia is equipped with two 3d-screens and Android controls the steering.
SmartGoggles, which Sensics has a website set up, is the name of a series of stripped-down, virtual reality helmets on the head to be worn. Other than a vr-glasses by another unit of video images must be provided, the SmartGoggles Natalia completely stand-alone. Third-party devices however, are also on the helmet to be closed, so also smartphones, tablets and computers from the display can use.
The SmartGoggles Natalia is constructed from two 3d screens, one for each eye and uses head tracking and a single hand sensor to catch your. Also smartphones, tablets and other devices through a wi-fi-, bluetooth – or wired connection of these sensors to use. The Natalia can also objects follow thanks to a built-in camera. Or this also for head tracking is used, is unclear.
Natalia is powered by an ARM-soc and 3d-images, and runs on an Android version or an embedded version of Windows. The advantage of this is that applications directly on the vr helmet can be rotated, and the development for the Android platform easily.
Sensics wants the Natalia-version of the SmartGoggles next month, during CES in Las Vegas, we disclose it. To the company, no exact specifications of his vr-helmet free, and the prize can only be guessed. The manufacturer is also working on an augmented reality helmet, the Marina, which is a transparent housing, so that the environment remains visible.
