Belkin has announced that several of the recorders from his TuneBase-series has a manufacturing defect that may cause a short circuit. The manufacturer calls the customers on the products send back to us.
According to the manufacturer it goes to the TuneBase Direct and TuneBase FM products, some batches may cause a short circuit in the washer which sits on the tip of the adapter for the cigarette lighter, intended for power supply in the car. Belkin calls the Dutch customers of the relevant TuneBase products purchased, this to send back. It only goes to a series that between april and October 2009, was sold.
Consumers can use a special website to contact Belkin, after which the manufacturer, the customer informs about the terugstuurproces. It is not known if Belkin are customers also compensation offers.
The TuneBase products are mainly intended for use in the car. The FM series can act as an fm transmitter, and so can the music via the car stereo playback. In addition, hands-free calling possible and can connect with music on iPod and iPhone.
