TomTom has the app Places released on Android. The Dutch navigatiemaker let users businesses and tourist places, but navigation is missing in the app. A navigation app for Android to follow later.
Route information for pois is up-to-date information about traffic on the road, but navigation, the service of which TomTom is known for, is not in the app. According to spokesman Wouter Glaser is there a separate navigation app for Android. “We are working on it, but we can not yet say when he comes out.”
Places works together with Telephone directories and yellow pages for businesses, restaurants, and other places in the database. The service operates in several European countries, such as Belgium, Germany and Ireland. The search tool is from Tuesday to download from Android Market. Places was already available as an iOS app.
