Sony Japan: PS Vita will play at launch no PSOne games

Sony has announced the PlayStation Vita at the Japanese launch in december still no support for PSOne games. The Us site suggests that there w a lwa l support for classic games available.

That the game console at the Japanese launch without support for PlayStation Archive games need to do, is to read up on the Japanese site of PlayStation Vita. A by website Gamespot translated passage on the site reads: “Can games from the PlayStation Store to be played on the PS Vita?”, to which the answer is given: “Not at the time of the release”. In Japan are PSOne Classics and > bottled coffee drinks-16-games known under the name Game Archives.

On the American PlayStation Vita site is to read that the handheld did in fact support it will offer for Minis, PSP and PSOne games. It is not known if the PlayStation Store is completely the same includes as the classic games in the PS Store to download. On the American site it is stated that there are currently no plans to make PS2 or PS3 games playable for the PS Vita.

The PlayStation Vita will appear on december 17 in Japan. In Europe, the new handheld from Sony, only on 22 February 2012 on the market. In Europe the Vita recommended retail prices of 250 euros for the wifi model and 300 euro for the version with 3g on board.
