Samsung for home to South Korea two ultrabooks announced. The 13″ and 14″notebooks with 128GB ssd, and extra ExpressCache ssd are in that country at the end of this year in the 5-series. Early next year they will come to Europe.
The ultrabooks from Samsung have aluminum housings and the thickness of the 13,3″-device is 14,9 mm, while the 14″-notebook 20.9 mm, a bit thicker and even the Intel-established requirement of 20mm exceeds. The 14″-ultrabook is also, however, an optical drive.
Samsung 14″laptop 1TB of storage and the 13″notebook is 500GB, but there are also models with an ssd of 128GB. In all cases, there is an additional ssd of 8GB, which is used for ExpressCache, which is to short attack times should lead. The amount of ram is 8GB and the processors are copies of Intel’s Sandy Bridge series, even though the model numbers are still unknown.
The Series 5 ultrabooks come at the end of this month in South Korea. The 13″ will be converted up to 979 euros in costs. For the 14″laptop is the maximum price converted to 1012 euro. Next year there should be worldwide ultrabooks from Samsung will come true. What models and with what configurations are they available in the Benelux countries, is not yet known.
