Ricoh has a new sensor-lensmodule planned for its GXR camera system. The new module is equipped with an aps-c image sensor and has a 3.5 x zoom lens. The module is in the beginning of the next year released.

The GXR camera system consists of a body with the grip, the lcd and the controls, and so-called GXR modules in the body to be slid. These modules have both an image sensor as a lens are united, while there is also a module with an aps-c image sensor with a Leica M lensmount.

In addition to the Leica M module, two modules with a combination of aps-c sensor and lens, but this was the to lenses with a fixed focal length. From the new roadmap for the GXR camera system shows that Ricoh is now also an aps-c module in the planning with a zoom lens with an equivalent range of 24-85mm in small. The aperture range is not known.

The new module is given according to the roadmap, an image sensor is sixteen megapixels. It seems that this, as with the previous GXR module with aps-c image sensor is from Sony. In the earlier modules, however, was an older variant with 12.3 megapixels. Sony uses in its NEX-C3 and NEX-5N-ilc-cameras using a sensor with effective 16.1-megapixel, while Nikon in the D7000 and D5100 dslr a sensor with Sony-dna with 16.2 megapixels used.
