Verhagen wants the rules for the auction as soon as possible to determine, he says in a letter to the Second Chamber. “I see in the ongoing investigation, no reason to be the auction otherwise form”, said the minister. Moreover, the companies involved, including newcomers and Tele2 and Ziggo/UPC, according to Verhagen clarity on the auction.

Several Members of parliament said this week that they wanted to consider to KPN, Vodafone and T-Mobile not to participate in the upcoming frequentieveilingen. The current telecoms operators are suspected of price fixing. Regulator NMa is investigating the case. Therefore, it fell to the NMa this week at the headquarters of the providers.

The investigation into the fixing of prices can one and a half to two years, but the next frequentieveiling is planned for about up to half a year.
