Intel’s roadmap for 2012 will appear

The roadmap for Intel’s customers has shown, it is made public. According to the planning, comes Ivy Bridge in the second quarter of 2012. Sandy Bridge should be until the end of 2012, with some new instances in the prospect.

In the high-end of small innovations are to be expected. The Sandy Bridge E-series in the second quarter of 2012 expanded with faster cpus than the Core i7-3960X. May introduces Intel than a fully capitalized Sandy Bridge E processor with all eight cores and 20MB L3 cache is active. With the current cpus are only six cores and 15MB of L3 cache activated.

The Sandy Bridge E series is also the top end of the Premium Performance line, which is led by the i7-3930K. Just below the i7-3820 in the first quarter, followed by faster variants of both processors in the second quarter. In that quarter is also the Sandy Bridge-series in that segment, followed by the first ‘Ivy Bridge’ processors, starting with the i7-3770K and the i7-3770. Sandy Bridge is the i7 – and i5-segment already in the second quarter of 2012 phased out.

In the lower segment is now characterized by the i3 series Sandy Bridge processors, the Ivy Bridge processors have made their appearance, also in the second quarter. Some of the i3 processors with the Sandy Bridge architecture, however, are still in the third quarter delivered.

In the lower segment of the market, with Pentiums and Celerons, the first Ivy Bridge processors only in the third quarter and gradually introduced. Sandy Bridge remains for the most part, the architecture for the low-end. A new Celeron with Sandy Bridge cores the on-board december 11, appear. This G460 get a clock speed of 1.8 GHz, 1.5 MB L2 cache and hyperthreading.
