Intel’s first 14nm chips working in testing labs

Intel currently has all of the chips with a 14nm-proced lwa are manufactured rotating in its testing labs. The chip maker is planning to introduce the first processors, the 14nm-proced lwa to use in 2014 on the market.

That leaves Intel ceo Paul Bliemer know in an interview with nordichardware. While the company prepares for the introduction of the new Ivy Bridge architecture with tri-gate transistors at 22nm, it would also work on new nodes smoothly. Bliemer to let you know that the first 14nm chips already produced and the company is currently in its testing labs running.

The 14nm process should, together with the new tri-gate transistors, the power consumption of processors, greatly reducing. Especially for mobile chips is that essential; Intel have been trying for several years to break into the market for phones and tablets, but the current Atom chips, so the company put it in terms of energy efficiency against the competition. The first 14nm-Atoms are expected in 2014.

Earlier this year, it announced that Intel is already building a new factory, specifically for the production of 14nm chips. The Fab 42-complex comes in the place of Chandler in Arizona and is 5 billion dollar cost. In 2013, Fab 42 are ready for use.
