Android app warns you of approaching cars when crossing

Researchers from several universities have an Android app developed which enables users to cross warns if there is a car arrives. The app used the phone’s camera and an algorithm to cars to recognize.

The app, which is the name WalkSafe has been given, warns a user when crossing the road a car is recognized. The app works especially in urban areas; cars can be up to 50 metres can be detected. The app warns the user by means of hard tones and vibrations.

WalkSafe works with an algorithm to cars to recognize at live camera of the Android phone. The app, which is especially works during the call, as well as the backs of cars recognize. It has been developed by scientists from the Dartmouth College in the Us state of New Hampshire and the university of Bologna, writes Physorg. The researchers already for some years engaged in the development of applications that input from the environment, such as image or sound, use to add features to smartphones.
