Acer released in april 2012 with Ivy Bridge ultrabook

Laptopmaker Acer releases in april of 2012 a new version of its S3 ultrabook, which is based on Intel’s upcoming Ivy Bridge platform. The design of the new ultrabook is according to the Taiwanese manufacturer changed.

That says Grigory Nizovsky, Acers manager for the Middle East, in an interview with the Khaleej Times. He calls the Ivy Bridge platform, not by name, but says that Acer in april 2012 comes with a new version of the S3 ultrabook, which uses a ‘new platform’ from Intel. The 22nm-produced Ivy Bridge chips will be around the same time expected. The design of the ultrabook would also be adjusted.

Acer expects ultrabooks within five years to the mainstreammarkt will break, while Intel thinks ultrabooks are already at the end of 2012, with a market share of forty percent will have been reached. Is expected to come in 2012, ultrabooks with touchscreens, in order to make use of the new interface of Windows 8.
