The Russian search engine Yandex wants more users with smartphones to get through their own skin to for Symbian and Android. Therefore, the company SPB, the maker of the years already existing shell Shell 3D.
Shell 3D is an interface to provide access to services and the search engine Yandex was Russia’s largest internet company, Monday known. 3D Shell is the former SPB Mobile Shell, that many users had on Windows Mobile. The peel works on Symbian and Windows Mobile, but is now the most well-known of its Android-version. How Yandex will pay for the acquisition, is unknown.
SPB has years of software for smartphones. It developed for Windows Mobile including SPB Mobile Shell, a shell that Microsoft’s old mobile operating system suitable for operation with the fingers. Under the name Shell 3D is a skin made for Android. In the past year earned SPB estimated that between 1 million and 5 million euro with the sale of its Android skin. In addition to the shell makes SPB also other applications such as Time and Wallet. SPB is just as Yandex, a Russian company. Yandex claims to be the largest search engine and the most-visited site of Russia to exploit.
