Second Room is going to do research to ict problems

The Second Room is going to do research into the ict issues in the government. There has been criticism in the ict projects of the government that fail or that millions more need to be stabbed than previously budgeted.

All of the fractions in the Second Room are behind a proposal from the SP and the CDA for such a research, writes the Volkskrant on Monday. SP Member of parliament Sharon Gesthuizen said before Tweakers.net a parliamentary investigation into the government ict issues to want, but the rest of the Second Room and found it still to early. Now other groups so tack. The survey can be found at the earliest in the summer of 2012.

One of the reasons for the parliamentary research the DigiNotar incident, where an Iranian hacker managed to break in the Inner ssl-farmer DigiNotar and false certificates could be created. However, there is already years of criticism of ict projects in the government: which costs are systematically too much and fail often. Saturday broke the water boards also collaborate with Logic for a major ict system, because the expectations could not be fulfilled. That takes a possible 25 million euro.

At a parliamentary inquiry does the Second Chamber in the form of a commission investigation of an event. This is a Kamermeerderheid required. A parliamentary inquiry is less far-reaching than a parliamentary inquiry. In a survey of Second Members of parliament certain powers, such as the hearing of witnesses under oath; a survey can’t do that. A parliamentary inquiry, however, applies like a heavy medium, but it is rarely used.
