Nvidia’s gpu roadmap for 2012 compiled

A Japanese site has on basis of information from the manufacturers a roadmap for Nvidia’s GeForce line, composed, as it is in 2012 look. The first would be the low-end operated going to be, at the end of 2012 would be the flagship appear.

The first gpu in Nvidia’s GeForce 600-line are likely to be in december already announced and are the mobile variants. Like message, it’s reportedly still not to the chips based on the new Kepler architecture. The first desktop-gpus around Kepler to be built would be somewhere around the end of the first quarter of 2012 or the beginning of the second appear, a roadmap to the Japanese site 4Gamer, together with sister-company ExpertsPC has put together. The sites rely on information from oems.

Since the chips on a smaller process than the current line can be produced, 28nm in place of (40 nm), begins Nvidia with chips with fewer transistors, so that yieldproblemen not as big an impact. If you have any problems in the production are ironed out, the high-endchips with more transistors of the tape reels.

The first gpu that is going to appear for low-end and this is the GeForce Kepler 107, or GK107. This would be a 128bit memory bus and combined with gddr5 memory. The chips would still use pci-e 2.0.

The next in line would be the GK106, which the mainstream needs to operate and a 256bit interface with gddr5 combines with pci-e 3.0 support. A step higher on the ladder, the GK104, which according to the site a 384bit bus with gddr5. The GK110, that in the last quarter of 2012 should appear, would interestingly enough, the two GK104’s include. At the end of 2012 would be the GK112 need to appear, and this is according to the roadmap, the flagship of Nvidia with a geheugeninterface that 512bit wide.

The number of cores and clock speed are not yet known. Would all the chips DirectX 11.1 support, that will arrive with the advent of Windows 8.
