AT&T put overnameplannen T-Mobile USA in the wait

The American telco AT&T has been request for approval of the acquisition of competitor T-Mobile USA withdrawn. AT&T had the request filed with the Us approval authority FCC. The deal would, however, not cancelled.

In march this year made the two companies announced that AT&T’s 39 billion dollars would pay for T-Mobile USA. The latter is owned by Deutsche Telekom. Competitor Sprint signed the official objection against the acquisition, which AT&T is much too powerful would make on the American telecom market.

In early december, the U.s. department of justice filed a lawsuit to the acquisition block, because these laws might violate. Both companies now have the application for the approval of the acquisition is withdrawn. The telecom companies emphasise that they are not of the deal, dispense, and still plan to use the approval in a later stage, to obtain.

Nevertheless, it seems AT&T is not much confidence in a positive outcome. The company has for the fourth quarter of this year a post of $ 4 billion recorded for the loss to cover that with the fall apart of the deal comes with it, reports Yahoo. The companies had agreed that upon the ricochet of the deal AT&T in the amount of $ 3 billion to Deutsche Telekom would pay. The extra 1 billion is the value of the part of the telecomspectrum that AT&T is now missing.
